Invisalign and dentures serve different purposes in dental care but both contribute to improving oral health and aesthetics. Invisalign is a modern orthodontic treatment that uses clear, removable aligners to gradually straighten teeth, offering a discreet alternative to traditional braces. On the other hand, for those who are missing several or all of their natural teeth, dentures can be a great way to improve aesthetics and function. They come in full or partial options and can be implant-supported.
Dr. Lance Huber grew up in Prince George and, following high school, he moved to Kelowna to complete a science degree at UBC Okanagan. He and his family fostered special needs children and later Lance managed care homes for special needs adults. After the arrival of their fourth child, he and his family moved to Saskatoon, where he completed his dental degree at the University of Saskatchewan. After receiving his degree, they returned to West Kelowna where Lance began practicing dentistry. Lance was interested in working in a smaller community, so he took the opportunity to build his practice in Oliver, in the stead of well-known long-time dentist Dr. Peter Jones. The commute from West Kelowna, where he was raising his kids, to Oliver would have been daunting to most, but Lance met that challenge cheerfully, even cycling the distance on occasion.
When not in the office, Lance enjoys being outside and spending time with his family and friends. You may see him riding his bike on the roads or trails of the Southern Okanagan, rock climbing in the Skaha bluffs or skiing the local mountains. Now that his four children are all grown, he has moved a little closer to work and enjoys traveling to areas where he can pursue his love of the outdoors.
Lance takes pride in his ability to set patients of all ages at ease. He understands the stress that a dental visit can cause patients and feels that trust and communication are key to setting people at ease. Whether a patient wants relief from pain or infection, or to rebuild a broken-down smile, Lance is happy to listen and help achieve a goal that meets their needs.
At Southern Okanagan Family Dental, Lance and his staff provide full dental services, including emergency pain relief, root canal treatments, dentures, crowns and bridges, extractions, Invisalign, oral sedation and botox injections.
